No, seriously, why don’t you?
Spring is in full force (at least, for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere) and when it’s not raining or storming, it’s the perfect weather to go outside and enjoy some fresh air, a cool breeze, and some good old sunlight!
That’s what I did today, actually. Spending all of winter inside, working a day job only to come home and keep myself cooped up inside hasn’t exactly left me feeling my best, and today, I got tired of it.
I go biking often when the weather is good like this, and today was the perfect chance for me to go out and take a nice, long ride down to the major commercial center near where I live. It’s about a 30 minute ride along back roads, and very worth it to log 7 miles or so back and forth, with an additional 2 mile walk around my neighborhood once I got home.
I really needed the air, the exercise, and the time to think. Spending every day inside watching social media feeds, gaming, writing articles for this website, or going out with friends leaves very little “me” time. Sure, I could just as easily have gone walking in the woods with my camera, but that would have just been a mosquito ridden nightmare for me. besides, taking the camera out, I would just turn the walk into more work, thinking about the photographs I would be taking, and not thinking about me, or enjoying the little things.
No, I need to just have my iPod and open pathway, to clear my head, and get some well deserved exercise. I owed it to myself, and so do you, to get outside once in a while and just enjoy the outdoors. It doesn’t matter if it’s a simple walk, and actual hike, visiting a park, a bike ride, or camping for a weekend, just try to squeeze in time for some fresh air and sunshine.
It just isn’t healthy to stay inside all the time.
