Ah, the year 2000, a time when the Dreamcast was showing us what the next generation would bring, the Playstation 2 was the hot new thing, the Xbox was still in development, and online gaming was in its infancy. Things have come a long way in the past 16 years, but at the same time, things have somewhat stayed the same.
In this Computer Chronicles episode, we take a look at the cutting edge of gaming back in the year 2000. From the first Hitman game to Command and Conquer to NBA2K1 on the Dreamcast, Counter Strike and Quake 3 as “new” games, and more from about when I was in High School. Quite a fun time gaming wise.
One interesting note is this episode features Jeff Lundrigan, who wrote for Game Players magazine back in the mid 90’s. That was my main gaming magazine as a kid, and he actually was my favorite reviewer from the team, so it was funny to see him here talking about a Mechwarrior game. Good times, I guess you could say.
Anyway, enjoy the episode – there are, as always, more to come.
