This months Games With Gold list is something else. Another 4 great games, for free, what’s not to love? Okay, the games range from titles that are probably alright to ones known to be absolutely awesome, and vary in genre, so your mileage may vary. They are, of course, free with an active Xbox Live subscription, but let’s face it: if you’re playing a modern game console and don’t have the subscription service for it, then what’s the point? Like it or hate it, they are pretty required.
In any case, enough filler, let’s get to the games!
Xbox One
Super Dungeon Bros.
Have you ever played Gauntlet? If so, then you know what this game looks like and probably plays like from the start. I could be wrong, but this game very much looks like the legendary dungeon crawler series, which is a very thing. More comedic than serious, this looks like a nice, fun co-op multiplayer experience.
Murdered: Soul Suspect
Solve your own murder? Alright, I’m down for that. a little late (this would have been better for October) but hey, this should be fun. I’ve heard good about it, so, I’ll certainly check it out.
Xbox 360
Monkey Island: SE
Ah, Monkey Island, an absolute legend of a game in the PC gaming world. It will be nice to have a chance to really enjoy this classic game, as I have, for whatever reason, never bothered to play them on PC (not that I couldn’t do that right now, I just never feel the urge.) Point and click adventures may not be for everyone but they have a unique gaming experience that many people even decades later still adore.
FarCry 3: Blood Dragon
Ah, certainly the top title this month, Blood Dragon is basically FarCry if it were a hyper 80’s action movie. The art style, the overblown character archetype, and more, it just looks like an awesome time. I actually do have this on the FarCry compilation for 360, but I have yet to play it (haven’t even opened the game, actually) so, at least I’ll have it digitally as well. Looks like a blast. Bonus points if you notice Major Nelson say “Nucular” in the video.
That’s that, same stuff, different games, different month. Not bad, but maybe not for everyone. Still, give em a download and try em out. You will be glad you did, I think.
