In case you have been living under a rock, there is an election tomorrow, and ya know what? It sucks. The candidates are terrible. The entire process getting us to this stage has been horrible.
I don’t get political here on Xadara, and I’m not about to go into details – it’s too late for that and I don’t want to stir any drama in this regard; it isn’t worth it. It is worth it, however, to express how disappointed I am in the system as it stands, that this is the best we could do; that somehow, for 2016 and the Presidency of the United States from 2017 to at least 2021 is a choice of these two people.
Yes, it’s two. Not 4, or however many people want to say it is. The system just doesn’t allow for 3rd parties to gain power on such a grand scale so they are effective dead ends, as much as I hate that. When you add in the quantity of people who will still vote for a given person by default, or a given party by default, and the volume is such that a 3rd party vote, as much as I support it in principle, is a waste, and will be until the system itself is changed.
Tonight I wonder, tonight I worry about what will happen in 24 hours. I’ll pay attention to this election more than I have any other, more than even the 2008 election. Like I said before, the entire system as it stands is flawed, and I wish we would update it to better reflect the evolution of the nation, and of its people.
Forgive the patriotism here, but understand that I care about the United States, and I truly think we can do better than this. All I can say, in the end, is that I hope when the morning of the 9th comes around and we know the end results. we have made the right decision.
