An Atlas V is set to launch on November 19th in a 541 configuration (5 meter payload fairing, 1 Common Core Booster, and 4 Solid Rocket Boosters) carrying the GOES-R payload for NASA and the NOAA. This satellite will be placed into a geostationary orbit around the earth to monitor the general weather conditions of the western hemisphere. Naturally, it will use state of the art equipment, thus increasing our understanding of the weather on this half of the planet. That, of course, is putting it simply.
Of course, I’m here to share the launch profile video – these short, simple videos give nice overviews on just how the rocket will send its payload into orbit, and this is no exception. Enjoy!
