2016 was a hell of a year. It had its good points, its bad points, and all in all, it was pretty much just like any other given year. The biggest element was about halfway through the year a focus change in my efforts from YouTube to this site proper. This was a change that should have happened years ago, but heavy video production was worth a shot, and it taught me quite a bit about how my energies can be best spent. While I love video making, constant heavy production combined with the rather demanding and never happy nature of the YouTube audience makes it not the most worthwhile focus of my efforts, even though the very ADHD nature of the internet means most people just don’t want to bother reading – they would rather set back and watch video.
Regardless, it’s easier for me to say what I have to say, and ironically reach a broader audience, via text. That being said, articles here are going to continue strong through 2017. I’m hoping to keep up a pretty consistent schedule of posts, and to continue to spread out into other subjects, share more content I find interesting, and get back to reviews – lots and lots of reviews!
On the YouTube front, considering the heavy amount of thrifting I’ve been doing recently, and plan on continuing to do in the upcoming year, it would only make sense to do videos on the items I find. I’ve already got quite the stockpile of things to show off, and once the holiday season ends, I’ll probably have more time, and more energy to do videos on them.
Gaming is still my hobby – that’s never going to change, and I want to do more gaming related videos, but I don’t quite know what to do that hasn’t been done to death before. I’ll figure something out, I’m sure!
Lastly, come the end of the holidays and moving into January, I have one major project being thrown into the mix. It’s still too early to announce it, even though it’s launch is in just a few weeks – Hell, it has to be public before January 21st, but the work to make that happen will be minimal, just time consuming. I’m sure I can make this happen without issue!
All in all, 2017 will be much like every other year here on Xadara, with a focus but plenty of room to improvise and expand what content I make.
Lastly, and probably the most important, 2017 will mark 10 years since the creation of this website. While the site has completely changed several times over the years, the focus on self expression and an alternate view on creative endeavors has never changed.
It’s complicated to explain, but I will try to do such in a future article series.
That reminds me, I need to finish up quite a few article series. I’ll get to those soon.
