Defcon is quite the interesting convention, unlike most others. Instead of being devoted to anime, or video games, or comic books, this one is about technology and the hacker subculture. The talks can vary wildly, and I plan on sharing some of the best ones with you here, as I feel the urge.
To start off, though, let’s go back to 2009 and Defcon 17. Jason Scott, whom I’ve shared videos about before, gave a talk about a man who was suing him for two billion dollars over the fact that his server happened to host a copy of a website which happened to contain a text copy of a book book that this person had written back in the late 80’s or early 90’s and, due to his feeling he had lost revenue according to some absolutely insane logic, he felt he was owed that much by Jason Scott.
Oh yes, it’s as crazy as it sounds. Quite the fascinating story, and Jason Scott has a very special art to his storytelling. Sit back, relax, and enjoy some absolute insanity!
