Time for the next months Games with Gold lineup, and this time we’re changing the article format a bit. Something I find interesting is that this time around, I’m seeing pretty positive feedback on the YouTube comments on this one, a rare treat to see people not complaining nonstop about the game selection. That’s a good thing, right?
Let’s take a look at June’s selection.
On the Xbox One, we have Speed Runners and Watch Dogs. Speed Runners is a new release multiplayer platformer that looks like it may be cool. Keyword, may – I’ve been burned on these new release titles before. Later in the month we get Watch Dogs, which kind of sucks since I just got a physical copy of this for the Xbox One back in December (had it on PC for years, though) and I kind of hate the whole “I just bought a game now it’s free” incidents that happen sometimes. Still, It will be nice to have it digitally, as I did enjoy the game (although I never finished it, go figure); Watch Dogs was pretty cool to play.
For the Xbox 360, we have Assassins Creed 3 and Dragon Age Origins. Two super classic Xbox 360 titles that will also be playable on the Xbox One. This seems to be what everyone is really happy about, as the fanbases for these game series and in particularly these titles in their respective series being highly regarded. Never played them, so these will be treats for me.
Lastly, as a bonus, there apparently will be free to Gold members DLC for the re-release of Phantom Dust, something I probably should take a look at. Kind of cool that they would give the DLC free to the core players, something I think more games should try to do, if not while the game is “new” then certainly later down the line when a game is bargain-priced at Gamestop. Ah well.
That’s June’s games with Gold, and what comments I have on them. Looks like a solid list and as I always say, never turn down a free game.
