If this entry seems short, forgive me – I had an entire standard GwG article typed, and WordPress decided it would be good to just completely fail at the exact moment I saved the draft post.
Anyway, here we go with October’s Games with Gold lineup. As is typical, nothing too much in the way of Halloween or typically “October” themed content, but that’s fine – let’s look at the games.
On the Xbox One we have Gone Home and The Turing Test. Gone Home comes about as close as we get this month to a proper style game – a mystery that looks interesting enough – maybe I’ll get to it, who knows. Later in the month we have The Turing Test, a cleverly named game that reminds me much of the Portal series. I can only hope it’s got as good a puzzle design as the Portal games had.
For the Xbox 360 we have Rayman 3 HD and Medal of Honor: Airborne. I’ve never been a fan of the Rayman series, and although I certainly don’t dislike the games, I can’t see myself getting around to this one – I’ve got far too many other platformers that need my attention. As for Medal of Honor: Airborne, that looks like the main draw this month – I’m a fan of the classic Medal of Honor games and World War 2 settings, so a more open-world take on the classic formula might be fun. Sure, it’s an older game, but I’ll take it.
All in all, not the best month, and while I hate to agree with the comments on the video, rather “meh” for the most part, but still, I think there is fun to be had here.
