Been a good long while since I did anything regarding tech support scams. Rather than another typical video of a scam in action, I thought it would be fun to share this compilation by YouTuber Jim Browning, certainly one of the most thorough and mature scambaiters, where he shows what he feels were the dumbest scammers of the past year – in his experience, anyway.
From scammers who can’t do geography and take way too long to tell the local time, scammers who can’t even execute their own lies correctly, those who leave login information to critical payment systems on the machine they are trying to “fix” to even the rare but amazing moment when instead of them logging into your computer, they set you up to log in to theirs!
Some amazing failures here, for sure. It’s a short video, just over 11 minutes, so it can be enjoyed pretty quickly. I have to make note the video starts somewhat loud, so turn down your volume before you press play. Enjoy!
