May 2018 proved to be quite a productive month for me and my blogging – 29 articles, more than I’ve done since January. I guess I’m getting back into the swing of things. Of course, the 45th anniversary of the launch of Skylab helped with that, giving me a set of articles to write about (which you can find here) on a subject I really loved in space history.
Beyond that, I’ve been able to dive a little more into things I’ve wanted to touch on, or catch things as they are “fresh” and worth writing about, something that I always try to do but often miss for one reason or another. I talk about this every month, but it seems like I’m getting better at catching things worth covering and throwing my thoughts out there, so let’s hope this trend continues.
Anyway, May was a heavy month for space content – of course that never stops here, but I want to devote June to much more gaming and more pleasant endeavors. Granted, I write a decent amount about some classic gaming content here off and on, but June is pretty much a month made for gaming. It’s hot, muggy, and miserable outside (at least here in Memphis) so what else is there to do after work than sit inside and game it up? Heck, June is actually my main month for actually sitting down and playing games, something I don’t do near as much as readers may think.
Of course, there is an event that happens in June that’s pretty big in the gaming scene. Of course, I’m talking about E3, and while I’m as cynical as most anyone can be about the event (it’s just another pointless perpetuation of hype culture, if you ask me) announcements made at E3 are still very much worth covering, as those announcements will be the major disappointments and controversies we all hear about in November and December as these games drop and disappoint us. (Seriously, that’s all I ever see these days.. but more on that later.)
Otherwise, it’s more work on the never ending backlog of articles. I’m not saying I’m going to try to flood the site with content, but in previous years around June I’ve broke my sharing limits with Triberr, and I’m going to have to be careful to not do that this year.
Thanks for reading, have a great day, night, whatever!
