Oh good, Microsoft got off their tails and actually released this video before September began! Nice.
You know the drill, 4 new games this month free alongside an active Xbox Live Gold subscription. Enough talk, let’s get down to the video and the games themselves!
Opening up on the Xbox One we have Prison Architect and Livelock.
Prison Architect looks like a fun title. It’s been one of those “hey, I’ll try it out sometime” games on my list for quite a while and I guess now I’ll get a chance to play it. I’ll imagine it’s a more relaxed game for the most part, which is something I’ve been wanting in a new game to play – maybe this will be one to relax with this month?
Livelock comes later in the month and looks promising. A class based twin-stick shooter? Okay, I’m down for giving this a shot. More arcade like actions is always welcome in my gaming library. I wish I could say more about it but, well, I’ll just have to see how it is.
On the Xbox 360 we have Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars and Sega Vintage Collection: Monster World
Oh boy.. another Lego Star Wars game. Yawn. I’ve mentioned before how absolutely tedious and repetitive these LEGO games are – they can be fun at times, if you’re in the right mood, but playing them for a long duration is just torture. This is yet another one to add to the pile, which continues to help cement the Xbox 360 as the “kids” game console. Funny how completely different a case it was a decade ago, but that’s how things change….
Lastly, we have Sega Vintage Collection: Monster World. Fuck yeah, Wonder Boy games! These are some absolute classics from Sega, and will totally be something I play. No, not “may be something I play” but will be something I play. It’s not like I haven’t played some of the titles in this series before, so this will be familiar territory.
Yeah, another bland month. I can’t say anything more than that. While I’m on the more optimistic side of things here, I know on a whole this set of games is of lower quality, give or take. That’s just how this goes, honestly, and is why I cover these games as I do – so I can share my thoughts, however brief they may be on each game, for whatever its worth in you, the reader, making an opinion of your own.
We’ll see what they throw out next month. Whatever it is, it better be spooky!
