From time to time I like to give a little space for my friend Prince Watercress to share thoughts, comments, what have you. Today I thought I’d give our echidna obsessed friend a chance to share his comments on New Coke. He ordered some the same time I did, and, in retrospect, had this to say about the drink.
Alright, so as for what I thought of New Coke…it was alright. It definitely tasted in some way like a Pepsi, though I cannot really say for certain exactly how much, probably because my taste buds can’t seem to “fathom” the difference between Pepsi and New Coke if I were to have one and then the other. New Coke definitely wasn’t terrible, that’s for sure. Would like to have some with my DiGiorno’s pizza when Stomping Grounds airs on WWE Network this Sunday, but that’s just me. I too think it could find an audience in some way. I mean, Crystal Pepsi was a hit with me when they brought it back in 2017, so hey…you never know!
There you have it! I recall him originally saying it tasted “just like Pepsi” when he first tried it. I’m sure it does taste nearly identical to him, as we all have slightly different senses of taste and what flavors we notice more than others. It’s interesting to hear though that, again, the flavor is compared to Pepsi so directly — more evidence of what Coke was going for in 85 to try to win back market share.
That’s that. I just wanted to, for contrast, share his thoughts. It’s nice to be able to tag team on these kinds of things. It’s funny, I thought he may have more to say, but his short comments really put it in perspective, I think.

More to come, as always.
