I’ve recently finally really taken time to enjoy just sitting back and playing games again; I worked my way through Halo: Reach again recently and right now have been finally working through Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories.
During the past week or so of playing it I’ve made the occasional post on twitter about the game as I’m experiencing it and that’s when it hit me — why not do an article series devoted to just that? That might be fun, for whatever it’s worth, and would give me more to write about, and act as a “scratch pad” for possible reviews (like I’m ever going to get around to those.)
This idea is actually partially inspired by what my buddy Prince Watercress does with his “Try It Out Tuesday” series on Twitter where he does much of the same, effectively auditioning a game as a possible future Let’s Play; if not that then at least playing it and providing a summary of the experience for what it’s worth to his followers on there.
It’s an idea, something to have some fun with. I certainly wouldn’t have to take the entries too seriously, compared to how I do some other topics I write about and, as I said, they can very well work as starting-off points for reviews once I complete (or say “screw it) to a game.
As always, one of those “take it for what it is” kind of things. We’ll see where it goes.
