It’s time again to take a look at the upcoming months Games with Gold lineup, but things are a bit different this time around. Thanks to the current Coronavirus issue, there appears to be no video for the April games with Gold assortment. Yep, no video to accompany things, just an image from the Xbox website and of course their information on the upcoming games, all in text form. Blogging wins again, I guess. Enough rambling, let’s take a look.

Starting off on the Xbox One we have Project Cars 2 and Knights of Pen and Paper Bundle.
Project Cars 2. Oh boy, more racing… Okay, I kid, from what I’ve gathered Project cars has a reasonable fan base, and as I’ve said I’m not averse to some racing enjoyment, so this may be a nice one. Without video it’s hard to judge, and I try not to “look up” these games beyond the presentation — just what you see in the usually accompanying video or what I already may know about the game, so, I can’t say much else.
Knights of Pen and Paper Bundle sounds far more interesting, though. A tabletop RPG styled game? A set of them, mind you? Count me in. I enjoy RPG’s and love the nature of tabletop gaming, so this, at first glance, may well be something for me to really pour some time into. We’ll see of course, but this is something I’ll certainly give a go to.
On the Xbox 360 we’ve got Fable Anniversary and Toybox Turbos.
Fable Anniversary eh? Nice. A remaster, in a sense, of the original highly regarded game Fable this may be fun for me to dive into — I’m overdue for checking out at least the first couple of Fable games! Again, I like RPG’s so, why not? I can make time for it.
Lastly is Toybox Turbos. Can’t say I’m happy with another racing game this time around — hell this whole list is just racing and RPG’s but whatever, it may be fun. I’m getting hints of Micro Machines on the NES in this one, so it may just be crazy enough to be fun. Who knows? Gotta try it to be sure, right?
There we go. Sorry I don’t have more to say, but this is a strange one, to say the least — a set of games that certainly feel like rushed picks, and without the video it just doesn’t feel quite right but, well, that’s what we have. Welcome to the new normal — hopefully next month things will be a bit better, but I have my doubts.
More to come, as always.
