I’ve got a bit of a habit of planning out articles but never actually writing them. Sometimes I just have to say “forget it” and let them go, as they wind up being too dated and no longer relevant, or I just have better things to cover. Still, other times I feel like they would make good content and, even a year later, want to get them out. Or, sometimes, they are part of a series of articles and I never get around to wrapping up said series. In any case, more often than not I feel something is still worth writing, and it goes into the backlog, a never ending purgatory of ideas I’ve had that never see the light of day.
This week I thought it might be good to take some time to really devote to nothing but the backlog — mainly a few particular entries from the past year and a half which fit more into the “part of a series” category mentioned above — mainly a look at the many Macintosh systems I’ve collected in the past few years alongside a few odd one-off entries. I think it will be fun to go on and knock out a whole group of related entries and finish off the month on a “good” note – May can be spent on new projects and going back to a bit more of the critical stuff.
That isn’t to say some more current stuff won’t be published this week – that’s a given for at least a few things I’ve got planned, but for the most part I’m hoping to spend this week wrapping up some loose ends before beginning some new projects — namely the classic game reviews.
More to come, as always.
