You know the score – another month on the horizon means another video from Microsoft advertising the 4 upcoming free games with an Xbox Live Gold membership. It’s never ending, but in a good way. Interestingly, this video mentions the Xbox Series S and Series X, so that’s cool – we’re acknowledging the soon to be released hardware.
On the Xbox One we have Aragami: Shadow Edition and Swimsanity!
Aragami looks nice. Never heard of it, but stealth ninja action seems pretty cool. I like the cell shaded look, so I may check this one out.
Swimsanity is another one of those party that GWG has been a bit too laden with recently. I’d like them were I younger, but now? Not so much.
On the 360 side of things we have Full Spectrum Warrior and LEGO Indiana Jones.
I’ve seen Full Spectrum Warrior is something I’ve seen at work quite a bit and I think I remember from back in the day. It’s supposed to be a pretty realistic military gaming experience and, quite honestly, looks like it will be a blast. I’ve been wanting to try it out, and I guess this will be my chance. I like realistic action games, so, we’ll see.
Lastly is LEGO Indian Jones.
Oh boy. Another fucking Lego game. It’s not that I don’t like Lego as a brand and I certainly like Indiana Jones, but these games seem to be heavily not just child friendly, but filled with way too much “busy work” to keep a kid, well, busy, as opposed to solid gameplay that makes sense. Way too tedious for my taste, but maybe I’ll give this one a go to see if it’s different from the Lego Star Wars games. Probably not but we’ll see.
That ends another month. I don’t really have commentary beyond this – I’ve grown to just expect “whatever” with the Games with Gold lineup, not in a bad way but just as a matter of fact. It is what it is.
