Fashionably late to the party, here’s the September 2021 Games with Gold lineup. Is it good? Is it bad? Well, that’s what we’re here to take a look at.
We open up with Warhammer: Chaosbane and Mulaka.
Another Warhammer game? Mkay, this one is another rogue-like (or “Diablo Clone, if you prefer) and while I find myself quickly losing interest in titles like this, it’s at least something to check out.
Later on we get Mulaka – a cell shaded action-adventure title based on a particular Native American culture. Awesome. No, I’m not being sarcastic, things like this keep the gaming sphere at least somewhat fresh and exciting. I’ve no idea how good or bad it may be, but I’m certainly interested. Sweet!
In the classic lineup we get Zone of the Enders HD Collection and Samurai Showdown II.
Zone of the Enders is a mech game series I always wanted to try out, but never had the chance when I was heavy into PS2 — looks like now I’ll have my chance to really check out the games in what should be their best presentation. Nice. I’ll certainly be giving this a go.
Lastly is Samurai Showdown II. Another SNK fighter from the era of top quality sprite-based gaming action. Cool. As stated in previous entries in the GWG lineup, while I’m not the biggest fan of fighters, I do enjoy them from time to time and find SNK to have generally always produced quality titles.
That’s that. Not too much to say — a mixed bag of things that all look good, but may not be up everyone’s alley. Of course, the peanut gallery seems to not like this lineup to much, but always remember — this seems to mostly be kids who just want free Call of Duty games and can’t appreciate the diverse options out there for video games.
Till next month, happy gaming!
