We’re coming up on a new month; Spring has sprung and the days are getting longer and, since it’s near the end of March, Microsoft has published the April Games with Gold video. Time to take a look. Will it be a good lineup, or will it bring more “meh” reactions from the masses? Let’s fine out.
On the modern lineup we have Another Sight and Hue.
Another Sight certainly looks intriguing story driven platformer, given the apparent mechanic of getting to play as a cat for portions (I would imagine that’s the inspiration for the title, seeing things from the cat characters POV being “another sight.”) Certainly has me curious.
Later we get Hue, a color themed puzzle platformer; the peanut gallery has commented positive on it, and it does look pretty interesting to me. Quite stimulating, as well, from the clips shown, in much the same way portal really got me thinking. Certainly worth checking out.
On the classic lineup we have Outpost Kaloki X and MX vs ATV Alive.
Outpost Kaloki X is an interesting looking business simulation game.. if that business is running a space station! Makes me think of Sim Theme Park or something like that, but, you know, in space, with aliens. I’m actually quite wanting to try this out, as I find such games very relaxing.
Lastly is MX vs ATV Alive; yet another racing game but, as I’ve said before, at least it’s motocross which I generally like; at least in video game form. Apparently this one was given out back in 2015 (at least, according to the peanut gallery) so long time GwG redeemers may already have it but that’s fine — I didn’t get it the past time, so it’s nice to have another chance.
And that’s that. Honestly, I’m liking this lineup. Everything is something I would at least try, and I dare say I could see myself getting into any or all of these, at least for a while. I’ll really have to make some time in April to try these out. Of course beyond what’s been mentioned above the peanut gallery is complaining, as always, but whatever — that shouldn’t affect your ability to enjoy what we get offered, if you do, and if you aren’t happy, well, go buy the games you really want and maybe stop waiting for handouts? 😉
