After all the themed entries over the past few years, for 2014 James went back to a “Just review random stuff” method, calling this one casually a “Whatever-The-Hell-You-Want-To-Call-It-A-Thon.” It’s much like Monster Madness 2009, with a mix of modern and classic horror / monster movies and supernaturally themed products — hell, it even touched on the children’s anthology series Are You Afraid of The Dark? which I absolutely loved as a kid.
There’s a little bit of everything here, from the outright comedy that is Young Frankenstein to the obscure 1922 satanic-documentary themed piece Haxxan. I should also note it has what are likely the most memorable and, to a degree, intense episode opening and endings for any Monster Madness. Yeah, the 80’s-a-thon opening stuck with me, but these openings and endings were something else. Rather love ’em.
