Been a little while since my last post, so I thought it time for another status update, since that’s kind of the default “I want to write but don’t have the drive to go for a bit article” kind of entry.
Right now I’m finishing up my weekend watching Terminator 2 for easily the hundredth time (I’m not even joking, it’s by far my most watched film of all time) and, while enjoying it as always, I’m wondering why the Paramount+ version is the theatrical cut as opposed to the extended edition. Maybe I should have just watched my local copy, but whatever. I can say pacing on the theatrical cut is better, so there’s that.
Anyway, this isn’t about T2, this is an overview on what I’ve been occupying my time with besides work. In this case, along with the usual bit of gaming, I’ve gotten heavily back into playing guitar and bass. I may not be very good, but goddamnit I have fun practicing and playing the bit of stuff I can play, and that’s all that matters. It’s also one of the few interests I have left that hasn’t been completely tainted by abject idiocy, so there’s that bonus.
Between that, the usual random gaming and other entertainment, I’ve been working in fits and starts on version 3 of Final Zone BBS. I really need to flesh out the other message areas and actually, you know, promote it again, but I am happy with the move to Citadel and hope that going forward, as the software matures (the team has a roadmap that looks pretty good) things will get even better. While it’s a bit ironic that I personally feel a BBS should not have a traditional web interface, the reality of how I and a few others use my boards in particular somewhat dictates such as necessary.
I need to write about the journey my board has taken over the past few months, but that will, like everything, take time and energy I don’t quite have. Work just has a way of wearing a person out, so while I want to write about quite a bit of stuff, I’m honestly just too damn tired to bother by the end of any given day.
It is what it is.
More to come, as always.
